ANG KABANALAN NG DIOS

080303
Ang Kabanalan Ng Dios
The Holiness of God

Isaiah 6:1-5
"Who among the gods is like you, O LORD? Who is like you-- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Ex 15:11 (NIV)

Ang salitang ‘holiness’ [sa Hebrew] ginagamit sa isang sense ng separateness, sacredness, apartness, pagkaiba, o’ pagkawalay.

Ang Dios lamang ang kasing banal na ganito. God is the only One that is Holy in this sense. “Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy.” Rev 15:4 (NIV)
"There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.”1 Sam 2:2NIV

May dalawang tanong tayong sasagutin.

He is Sovereign Creator.

1. Before anything was created there was the Holy One. All things created came into being at the utterance of his voice. He spoke and they were.

2. From eternity He has remained unchanged, needing nothing, self-sustaining, dependent on none. All his creation is dependent on Him.

3. He is alone is self-existent. He has no beginning and no boundaries or limitations except that of his own perfect attributes.

We are dependent on Him for everything, space, substance, life itself, but He needs nothing. He never has. He never will. Who is like the LORD who is separate, sacred, and apart from us?

What should an encounter with God’s holiness cause us to do?

1. An encounter with God’s holiness should cause us to worship Him. Every encounter with God in Scripture, God in His glory, causes the one who sees the revelation to fear and tremble.

Moses asked for the encounter and got more than he bargained for. He asked to see God with his own eyes. God, in His mercy, put him in the cleft of a rock and covered him, but allowed him to catch a glimpse of His backside. He said, “You cannot see my face for no man can see my face (a full complete revealing of the glory of God) and live.” And the result of that glimpse was a face that so glowed that people ask that it be covered.

Habbakuk heard the Lord in the third chapter of his book and here is how he described his reaction: 16 I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Habakkuk 3:16 (NIV)

2. An encounter with God’s holiness should cause us to see our deplorable sinfulness.

Job demanded to meet with God and when he did, Job said he would put his hand over his mouth. “I deplore myself and repent in dust and ashes.”

• If we want to see ourselves let us use God’s mirror of holiness. According to that mirror, we are not so bad, we are just very bad.

Kung alam lang natin kung ano talaga tayo then we would say pataytayo. If we only had a revelation of the standard, the holiness of God, we would be pronouncing doom on ourselves. The word literally means unraveled, “natanggal sa pagkahabi” . He felt like a rug all unwove with threads in heap on the ground. “I thought I had it all together, but when I see God in His holiness, I am a mess.” I see the vile things that have come from my heart and over my lips. Isaiah saw that his false standard, the people around him, had mouths as vile as his own did. This filthiness, he recognizes as himself, has seen the holiness of God. He will never compare himself with man again. He has a new standard. He will never walk in pride again. He has seen how lowly he really is.

• God’s mirror tells us we are simply doomed.

As Isaiah beholds this awesome beautiful sight, he is conscious of how filthy – how out of place – deserving of righteous justice his condition is. In chapter 5 as the Seer of God he is pronouncing woes on the people of Israel. Woe is the opposite of blessing, a declaration of wrath to be poured out in justice. But in chapter 6 the holiness of God causes him to pronounce woe against himself.

• God’s mirror tells us that God’s holiness is such that we should rightly fear God.

A holy God is the last thing man would ever desire to see. It is that holiness, that otherness, that causes us to fear. In the light of such purity we cry with Isaiah, “Woe is me! I am undone.” The revelation of such purity causes us to see how impure we are. In the light of that absolute purity we see the loathing of sin. “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity.” Hab 1:13

3. An encounter with God’s holiness should cause me to emphasize holiness.
His holiness will cause me to condemn sin especially in my own being

The fact that “God is holy” condemns all impurity. The Word declares God hates all workers of iniquity. (Ps 5:5) Like a mother hates the disease that ravishes the child she loves, our Father God hates sin. His holy purity is all that should be. Everything else is vile, out of place with all creation that this pure God created in a state of goodness. Evil is the destructive disease of creation that was created in holiness, wholeness, purity. What is this black speck of evil rebellion before all this brilliant holy goodness? It is my sin. And what will holy justice do with such evil rebellion toward His glorious goodness? Judge it righteously! He will give me what I deserve, unless I flee to the One who took that judgement in my place. As Moses hid in the cleft of the rock so we hide our unholiness in the wounds of Christ as the glory of God passes by.

4. An encounter with God’s holiness should make me treat Him as the one and only Holy God.

If there is an attribute that we ought to see it is the holiness of God.

The Scriptures refer to God as Almighty but more frequently He is described as holy. It is a verbal and written devise used to make us tune in more attentively and add emphasis.

In Isaiah we read of the praise around the throne of God in the Old and New Testaments the angels are not crying, “holy” or “holy, holy” but “holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts!”

These seraphs created to be in the presence of God in all his glory are continually overwhelmed again and again with his holiness. They do not cry love, love, love or merciful, merciful, merciful, or even powerful, powerful, powerful. For the beauty of all those attributes is what is overwhelming them and so they spontaneously cry from the depths of their beings these descriptive words, “Holy, holy, holy!”

Those three pair of wings, a design of their Creator, give them one to shield their faces from the full brilliant splendor of His holiness. As they peak through those feathers designed to dim the brilliance they are overwhelmed again. These are no robots, no unfeeling beings, they are so enthralled they can do nothing else. Can you see them in your mind as the fly around the throne and peaking a glimpse like Moses took they are overwhelmed with the holiness of God. From the depths of their being through vocal chords designed to voice praise to God ‘they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."’ Isaiah 6:3 (NIV) 4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. Isaiah 6:4 (NIV) One day you will witness this with your own eyes and you’ll be singing Revelation 4:11.

His justice is holy justice, His wisdom a holy wisdom, His arm of power a “holy arm” (Ps 98:1), His truth or promise a “holy promise” (Ps 105:42). His name, which signifies all His attributes in conjunction, “is holy,” Ps 103:1

Holiness is the beauty or splendor of all his attributes, and thus we worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Ps 110:3 “Power is God’s hand or arm, omniscience His eye, mercy his bowels, eternity His duration, but holiness is His beauty.” SC 2 Chron 20:21 God appointed singers in Israel “that they should praise the beauty of his holiness.”

5. An encounter with God will cause me to live for Him in holiness.

Our holy God demands that we be holy? Over and over again in the Law God said we are to be holy because He is holy! Peter repeats it in the New Testament. All impurity does not belong in God’s creation! It should not be in God’s presence.”
Let us consider these verses from (Lev 20:8, 21:15,23):
“Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am your holy God. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord who makes you holy….I am the Lord, who makes him holy….I am the Lord who makes them holy….

What do we see here?
God is holy.
He demands that we live holy lives.
His laws are to be standards that we should follow.
We are by nature unholy, unable to obey.
But instead of obliterating us to nothing He changes us that we may be able to obey Him.
We are not perfect. We are only a people whose perfect and holy God is at work in changing us.

Conclusion: Today we stand in that pure Presence of the Holy One we are as He created us to be. We are good only because He our good God covered us. Our goodness is not because of what we did, but what He did in our place. His holiness is satisfied because He made us holy and is continuously making us holy. Rebellion is gone. All is pure and in unity. Praise his holy name!

" ANG KAHALAGAHAN NG PAGIGING KRISTIYANO "
Iniingatan ng kanyang Kapangyarihan

INTRODUCTION
a. isang taong ipinanganak muli, isang taong namumuhay ng bagong buhay
a. Sabi niya “And God in His mighty power, will make sure “ that you get there safely to receive it , because you are trusting in Him

Satan works like a counterfeit Christ. He is just around not to comfort us or strengthen us but to trouble us as we obey. He also has his own workers but unlike the workers of Jesus Christ his workers misleads even us. He misleads through the false righteousness of his workers and in 1 Tim 4.1-3, he also misleads through false doctrine.

Panginoon ay dinescribe sa 1 Pet 5.10 na "the God of all grace" o’
our God who is full of kindness through Christ” We are not
alone in our resistance; He stands ready to assist us. This leads to
our next point

II. MAY PROVISION ANG ATING PANGINOON, ANG ATING
PROTECTION

A. ANG ATING DIYOS AY ANG ATING KATULONG...
1. Binigay Niya sa atin si Jesu kristo:He gave us His son the Lord Jesus Christ.

a. una bilang tagapamagitan - 1 Ti 2:5

1 Tim. 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

b. pangalawa , bilang ating tagapagtanggol- 1 Jn 2:1,2

1 John 2:1-2
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world

c. pangatlo bilang maawain at tapat na sacerdote - He 2:17-18

Hebrews 2:17-18
Wherefore in all things it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. [18] For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

He therefore provides a way of
escape:

a. Tinuruan niya tayo paano umiwas sa tukso, sabi nga Niya

Mt 26:41
“maglamay kayo at manalangin upang makaiwas kayo sa tukso”

1 Cor 10:13

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Nakakapanghawak.

1. kaya natin
2. at may daan upang tayo ay makatakas nito.

Hindi lang Katulong natin ang ating Diyos
B. ANG DIYOS siya ring ATING TAGUMPAY...

Our confidence comes from God's power, not our own.

Phil. 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

He provides power that is greater than Satan‘s power.
Eph. 3:16,20
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man…. 20. (NIV)Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us….

He also gave us ETERNAL SECURITY...

The Bible teaches the security of the believer. No one can snatch a
believer out of the hand of God and nothing can
separate a believer from the love of Christ

John 10:28-29
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. [29] My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. cf- Ro 8:35-39
Note carefully: these promises are for one who is a
believer!

ANG RESPONSIBILIDAD NATIN AY PAKINGGAN SIYA AT GAWIN ANG MGA NINANAIS NIYA! MAMUHAY TAYONG MATAPAT SA KANYA.

1. Pakinggan natin Siya: Ang pakikinig hindi isang oassive word, it involves everything, being warned and preparing our minds for action

a. Be warned. Take heed

1 Cor. 10:12-13
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! [13] No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

b. Gird up the loins of your mind

1 Peter 1:13

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

Hindi lang tayo makinig sa kanya! Dapat

• Discipline yourself - 1 Co 9:27
1 Cor. 9:27
No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

Nais Niya na maging matatag tayo sa kanya at sa kanyang pag-ibig,pananampalataya at biyaya.
• Root yourself in Christ and His love - Ep 3:17; Co 2:7

• Be strong in the grace of the Lord - 2 Ti 2:1

• Stand fast in the faith - 1 Co 16:13

Nais Niya harapinnating matatag ang ating kalaban
• Resist the devil - Ja 4:7

James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

CONCLUSION

Eph 6:10-13, 1 Pe 5:9-10

ANG KAHALAGAHAN NG PAGIGING ANAK NIYA

062203
"Eh , ANO KUNG KRISTIYANO NA AKO?"

ITINALAGA NA AKO SA DIYOS
Consecrated To God

INTRODUCTION

1. Malaki ang kahalagahan ng pagiging Kristiyano.

You and I have been separated by Christ to be consecrated and made holy until He comes.

(hagiazo - hag-ee-ad'-zo} na ang meaning ay “to make holy”,” to set apart for a special purpose”.

Our being consecrated to God pertains to both our standing before God and our conduct before God

The first talks about the status of our being sanctified, the second talks about process of our being sanctified.

I. THE STATUS OF OUR SANCTIFICATION

A. IKAW AT AKO AY GANAP NA BANAL KAY KRISTO.
ALL CHRISTIANS ARE SANCTIFIED...

May 3 tanong na dapat sagutin natin dito?

1. Sino ang ginanap na banal? Who were "sanctified in Christ Jesus? Ang iglesia sa Korinto ay kagaya ng isang ordinaryo na iglesia. Dinescribe ito ni Pablo na sanctified, or binanal dahil sa pakikipag-isa kay Kristo Jesus

1 Cor 1:2

2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

2. Kailan ba sila ginanap na banal? When had they been "sanctified? -

1 Cor 6:11
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

-- Note the past tense

1 Cor 3:1-3

1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

1) They were filled with envy, strife and divisions
2) They were acting carnally, as mere men
3. Thus, while Christians may not be perfect, they are still called SAINTS

You and I who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are the real saints.

Because they had been "set apart" to be "God's holy people" it was appropriate to be called "saints" –

1 Cor 1:2

2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

Col 1:2

2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

cf 1 Pe 2:9

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

-- This pertains to our standing before God, we are blessed to be considered His holy people

II. THE PROCESS OF SANCTIFICATION

A. TAYO AY ONGOING BUSINESS HINDI UNFINISHED BUSINESS. WE ARE CONTINUOSLY "BEING SANCTIFIED"... Tapos na aat ginagawa pa!

Sanctification is an on-going process; while we are here it never ends. Christ
is continuously at work in us. We who are in Christ are "BEING sanctified"

Heb 2:11
11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Sanctification begins at conversion, and continues as we grow in the faith

Paul prayed for the Thessalonians:

1 Thess 5:23
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
NKJV

sa atin Thus Christians are to pursue sanctification (holiness)

As the Hebrews were admonished

Heb 12:14

14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:

B. WE ARE CONTINUOSLY BEING SANCTIFIED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND BY HIS WORD.

We are"sanctified by the Holy Spirit inorder to follow Him.

Rom 15:16

16 that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

1 Pe 1:2 (NASV)
1 Peter 1:1-2
2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

Sanctification is
also the work of God’s Word.

Note that sanctification is also said to be tied in with the
Word of God:

Jn 17:17a. "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth." -

Ep 5:26b. "that He might sanctify...by the word" -

Since the Word of God is said to be "the sword of the Spirit"
(Ep 6:17), the Word is evidently the instrument used by the
Spirit to help bring about our sanctification

CONCLUSION

b. At, ibinukod kagaya Niya?

"Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse
ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting
holiness in the fear of God." (2 Co 7:1)

Are we perfecting holiness in the fear of God?

Our being consecrated to God pertains to both our standing before God and our conduct before God

I. THE STATUS OF OUR SANCTIFICATION

A. IKAW AT AKO AY GANAP NA_____________________________KAY KRISTO.

May 3 tanong na dapat sagutin natin dito?
1. Sino ang ginanap na banal? Who were "sanctified in Christ Jesus?

2. Kailan ba sila ginanap na banal? When had they been "sanctified? -
1 Cor 6:11 Note the past tense

1 Cor 3:1-3

B. MAHIRAP MAN ISIPIN PERO TOTOO ITO, IKAW AT AKO NA NANDIYAN KAY KRISTO AY MGA ___________________________. You and I who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are the________________.

ANG KAPANGYARIHAN NG PAGASA-BLANKS

18 May 2003NLBC Ang Kapangyarihan ng Pag-asa 1 Peter 1:3-9

Ours may not seem to be seem to be a very anti-Christian society but the encouragement from Peter is as relevant today than ever.
Dito sinasabi ni Pedro live like Jesus even when life is really tough. When life is really hard in Christ you will have the power to love. You will have that Living Hope.
Today, I want to try to answer three questions about this "living hope":

1) What is "living hope?"

Hope, as we typically think about it, is a desire for some future thing which we are uncertain of attaining but this is not what the New Testament says.
a. Ito ay _____________________hope. 1 Pet 1.13 ….he does not mean we should desire it and be uncertain of it. "Hope fully," means be intensely desirous and fully confident that Jesus Christ is coming again with grace for his people.
b. Next ito ay _____________________________________ hope. Living hope is hope that has power and produces changes in life. So Christian hope is a strong confidence in God which has power to produce changes in how we live.

2) The second question I want to answer is, How does this hope arise in our hearts? Paano ito magmumula sa ating puso?

We have hope because of his ___________, We have hope because of the _________________of God’s Word. And because we have His hope, we have new birth. New birth is the radical inward heartfelt change when we change our __________________ for the living hope in Jesus Christ.

3) And how does this living hope empower a person with the power to love. Notice 1 Peter 1:13-15:

How does this living hope help us to love.
First of all, When we hope we are actually pushing out
Second, this living hope helps us imitate Jesus Christ .

Finally, this living hope empowers holy love is by giving us the assurance of God's blessing and care which we need in order to follow through on some of his specific hard commands. There is only one basic reason why we disobey the commands of Jesus: it's because we don't have confidence that obeying will bring more blessing than disobeying.

ANG KAPANGYARIHAN NG PAGASA

18 May 2003 NLBC 1 Peter 1:3-9

Ang Kapangyarihan ng Pag asa

Intro. It was good to go home! But the surrounding circumstances around was not so good. Some of my loved ones were sick , not a very hopeful sight. There were less tourists. Less tourists in my town means less jobs, less jobs means less money. Na tempt talaga ako mag-complain but I was reminde by this passage.

Paul also wrote about the lashes, the shipwrecksand the many sacrifices he had to endure.
Sinulat ni Pedro ito 30 years or so pagkatapos namatay at muling pagkabuhay ng ating Panginoong Jesus.

Ours may not seem to be seem to be a very anti-Christian society but the encouragement from Peter is as relevant today than ever.

How can we have the power of the soul in times of great stress and anxiety not just to endure the evil day, but to be joyful and to fill our lives with the fruits of righteousness (Phil. 1:11), with deeds of kindness, with projects of mercy, with labors of love?

How, when your life is in jeopardy, or your job, or your marriage, or your health, or your respect in the community--how can you rise up with joy and bless those who abuse you and devote yourself to labors of love?

We are called to love not only in the very best of circumstances but also to love others even when our own life is falling apart.

Loving in the worst of times takes a power of soul which is utterly beyond us. If that is what we are called to do, then the power has to come from some source greater than the human soul.

Peter does not say "when things are tough, don't fret about others, take care of yourself."
In fact, Peter emphasizes that the tougher the times the greater the need to live a life of love for others.

Listen to what he writes:

Having purified your souls, by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers, love one another earnestly from the heart (1:22).

Beloved, I beseech you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh that wage war against your soul. Maintain good conduct among the gentiles so that in case they speak against you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation (2:11,12).

Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly (2:21-23).

Do not return evil for evil or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary, bless; for to this you have been called, that you may obtain a blessing. For "He that would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking guile; let him turn away from evil and do right; let him seek peace and pursue it." (3:9-11)

Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins (4:8).

Dito sinasabi ni Pedro live like Jesus even when life is really tough. When life is really hard in Christ you will have the power to love. You will have that Living Hope.

He begins the main body of his letter: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who according to his great mercy has begotten us anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1:3).

Today, I want us to answer three questions about this "living hope":
1) What is it?
2) How does it arise in our heart?
3) How does it empower us to love?

1) What is "living hope?"

Hope, as we typically think about it, is a desire for some future thing which we are uncertain of attaining.

a. Ito ay confident hope.
Noong sinabi ni Pedro sa 1:13, "hope fully in the grace that is coming to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ," he does not mean we should desire it and be uncertain of it. We don’t have to be uncertain because we have complete confidence in the coming of Christ. "Hope fully," means be intensely desirous and fully confident that Jesus Christ is coming again with grace for his people.

b. Next ito life changing hope.
Peter calls it "living hope." What does that mean? The opposite of a "living hope" would be a "dead hope," and that calls to mind a similar phrase in James chapter 2, namely "dead faith." "Faith without works is dead" (2:26), James says. That is, faith is barren, fruitless, unproductive (2:20). So "living faith" and, by analogy, "living hope" would be fertile, fruitful, productive hope. Living hope is hope that has power and produces changes in life. This is what "living' means in Hebrews 4:12 where it says, "The word of God is living and effective" So Christian hope is a strong confidence in God which has power to produce changes in how we live.

2) The second question I want to answer is, How does this hope arise in our hearts? Paano ito magmumula sa ating puso?

One part of the answer is given here in 1.3, another part is given in verses 1.23-25.

In verse 3, Peter says, "we are born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

In verses 23-25 Peter says, "You have been born anew not of perishable seed
but of imperishable through the living and abiding word of God; for all flesh
is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers and
the flower falls, but the word of the Lord abides forever. That word is the
good news which was preached to you."

We have hope because of his resurrection, we have hope because of the truth of God’s Word

And because we have His hope we have new birth.
What is new birth? "By his great mercy we have been born anew unto a living hope."
Have you ever asked the question: What makes you you? What is the essence of your unique personhood?
If you probe deeply you will find that it is not your actions or thoughts or ideas.
It is your desires. We are most basically what we crave. Ideas and principles will be brought in afterwards to justify our appetites and passions.

The new birth therefore is the radical inward heartfelt change which happens when we change our hopelessness for the living hope in Jesus Christ.

If that is true, then a radical change in our desires and longings will mean a radical change in our personhood. Something new comes into being and that is what Jesus and John and Paul and Peter call the new birth or regeneration. In New Birth we cease to put our hopes (our desires and longings) on things that are in the world, and instead place our hopes and desires on God.

2) And how does this living hope empower a person with the power to love.
Notice 1 Peter 1:13-15
Gird up your minds, be sober, set your hope fully upon the grace that is coming to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct.

How does this living hope help us to love.
First of all, When we hope we are actually pushing out greed and self-pity.
When we live without hope we live only for what we can see making us consider only what is good for us. If we live with hope we are reminded that we have Him who truly cares for us 1 Peter 5:7, "Cast all your anxieties on me because I care for you

Second, this living hope helps us imitate Jesus Christ .
You always tend to imitate the people you admire most and desire most strongly to be around. Kids tend to dress and walk and talk like their heroes. And so do we adults, though we are less blatant about it. A person who hopes intensely in Jesus Christ, who longs to see him and be with him, will inevitably start to think and feel and act like Jesus. "Everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure"(1 John 3:3). Strong hope to see Jesus is a strong power for holy love.

Finally, this living hope empowers holy love is by giving the assurance of God's blessing and care which we need in order to follow through on some of his specific hard commands. There is only one basic reason why we disobey the commands of Jesus: it's because we don't have confidence that obeying will bring more blessing than disobeying. We do not hope fully in God's promise. What did he promise? Peter passes on his teaching like this: "Do not return evil for evil or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary bless, for to this you have been called that you may obtain a blessing. He who would love life and see good days & let him turn away from evil and do good." You will always be better off to obey than to disobey, even if it costs you your life. "Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and the gospel's, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time & with persecutions and in the age to come eternal life." (Mark 10:29-30). The only way to have the power to follow Christ in the costly way of love is to be filled with hope, with strong confidence, that if we lose our life doing His will we will find it again and be richly rewarded.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ - who according to his great mercy has begotten us anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.-- a hope that everyone can have and maintain if you pray this prayer from the heart: "Lord Jesus, I believe in my heart that you were raised from the dead and that this guarantees that your death was sufficient to pay for all my sins and therefore God is for me and not against me and that you yourself are alive today and with me to help forever. And I pray that you will help me now to hope fully in your promises so that I am freed from the greed and self-pity that come from fear, and that I might be driven to imitate your love, and that I might always believe it is more blessed to give (to obey) than to disobey. And so Lord grant me in these times of stress and anxiety to have the power of soul to be joyful and to fill my life with labors of love. Amen.
